Junon dress by Christian Dior

From Dior’s 1949 fall collection, on display at the Met.  It’s made of pale-blue silk net embroidered with iridescent blue, green, and rust sequins.  The shape and colors were meant to resemble peacock feathers.

Although I have absolutely no desire to ever become famous for any reason, I would do it for the off chance that someone might let me wear something like this someday.  Zuhair Murhad designed a similar one that Miley Cyrus wore to the Oscars and it was beautiful, but when you put it next to the original you can see why Dior is one of the true masters of fashion.
