me: this is RAD.
chaely: I love when internet talks to you!
me: i love hitting “spin.” it’s like slots. with INFORMATION.
chaely: YOU ARE RICH WITH KNOWLEDGE!

That’s exactly how it happened.  Get some.

“If everyone thinks you’re a bit old, and a bit weird, it’s best not to do what makes you look rickety, undignified and mad as a sack of badgers.” —The Independent, commenting on everyone’s favorite McCain debate picture.  Personally, I love that picture because it’s the only thing McCain has ever done that made me chuckle in a way that didn’t quickly turn into gagging.

*gathers jaw off floor*

With 15 days left until the election, it looks like today might turn out to be the day of shocking political endorsements.  Salt Lake City mormons appear to be the next group to set tradition aside and endorse Obama.

Colin Powell Endorses Barack Obama → cnn.com

I fell asleep with the TV on last night.  I figured that the logical thing to do upon waking up was to channel surf and when I landed on CNN this is what I found.  Colin Powell, giving a live press conference in Washington to share his opinions about the Bush administration, the Iraq war, McCain’s nasty campaign and his endorsement of Barack Obama.  I had planned to go back to sleep but I actually sprung out of bed and jumped around for a minute.

If I can get my hands on video I’ll try to update this.  It’s worth watching - if anyone knows what they’re talking about when it comes to the direction of our government it’s probably Powell.

“Fear doesn’t so much rule the wood pulp news industry. More like pee-on-themselves existential terror.” —Berkeley Breathed, on why he feels that this “wicked period” in our history is signalling that it’s time to bring an end to his famous penguin character, Opus.  Read his interview @ Salon about the impending doom of the nation’s grumpiest penguin.

Smart Girls At The Party → onnetworks.com

I WISH THIS WOULD EMBED!  Trailer for a new web series created by Amy Poehler called Smart Girls At The Party.  It’s basically a talk show where she talks to young girls who have accomplished amazing things just by being themselves.
